Twelve welcoming days of STEM, arts, crafts, healthy food, outdoor play and friendship-building at Churchside Walk Community Centre.

Welcome to a summer of discovery

Children will enjoy practical STEM learning, alternating arts and crafts, nutritious meals, supervised outdoor play and team-building activities. The programme combines dependable routines and respect with the imagination, confidence and future-facing skills every child deserves.

Special Wednesday arrangements: On Wednesday 5 August and Wednesday 12 August, the programme runs from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Children will finish with activities on Stockbrook Field, and collection will be from the field at 1:00pm. Families will be informed if weather or safety conditions require a change.

Regular STEM

Coding, science, engineering, digital design and practical problem-solving.

Arts & crafts

Alternating sessions in drawing, storytelling, model-making and creative expression.

Social development

Daily games that build teamwork, communication, leadership, kindness and confidence.

Full activity timetable and food menu

Every day includes two meal choices, one pudding, random fruit and water. All meat should be halal-certified, and a vegetarian option is available daily.

Individual food preferences: Mild jollof rice may be available daily for an agreed child. Another child may alternate between mild jollof rice and jacket potato with baked beans. All arrangements must be confirmed with TES Community before attendance.

Food and wellbeing

  • Random seasonal fruit and water are provided daily.
  • All meat should be halal-certified; no pork or pork-derived ingredients are used.
  • Parents must declare allergies, intolerances and medical or sensory dietary needs.
  • Please do not send nuts or nut-containing products.
  • Children are encouraged, but never forced, to try unfamiliar food.

What to bring

  • Comfortable clothes and secure footwear for indoor and outdoor activity.
  • A weather-appropriate coat and refillable water bottle.
  • Any agreed medication, clearly labelled and handed to staff.
  • A suitable laptop only when TES Community requests one for a digital activity.
  • Please avoid expensive items, unapproved toys, fizzy drinks and sweets.

Safety and collection

  • Children are signed in and released only to authorised adults.
  • Tell the programme team promptly about absence or late collection.
  • Medical and support information must be shared before the first session.
  • Safeguarding procedures and first-aid arrangements are in place.
  • Wednesday 5 and 12 August collections are from Stockbrook Field at 1:00pm.

Inclusion and SEND support

We welcome children with different abilities, communication styles and support needs. Adjustments may include adapted instructions, visual guidance, movement breaks, flexible participation and advance planning with parents or carers.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I collect my child on Wednesdays?

On Wednesday 5 and 12 August, collection is from Stockbrook Field at 1:00pm, unless TES Community communicates a weather or safety change.

What happens if my child dislikes the planned meal?

Two choices are offered each day. Limited personalised arrangements, including mild jollof rice or jacket potato with baked beans, may be agreed in advance.

Can my child bring their own food?

Only where agreed in advance for dietary, medical or sensory reasons. Food must be labelled and must not contain nuts.

What if my child is unwell or cannot attend?

Please keep an unwell child at home and contact the programme team promptly about illness or absence.

What happens if the weather changes?

Activities will be adapted for safety. Families will be informed if the planned Stockbrook Field collection must change.
